About the Artist

Nathalie Stone is a cyanotype and mixed media artist. She is originally from Switzerland and moved to Swansea in 1987.

She enjoys experimenting with various artistic processes and has a particular passion for cyanotype. She is fascinated by the way Art and Science seem to merge into one, and the unpredictable nature – the element of magic and surprise – always keeps her interested in this technique.

“Cyanotype offers endless artistic possibilities and allows me to stretch my creativity and imagination.”

Her work is deeply influenced by the stunning natural environment around her, particularly the Gower and its beautiful beaches. She collects organic and natural objects during her walks which are then integrated into her art. She also works outdoors where sunlight and water play an active role in creating her artwork and further enhance a connection to the natural world infusing her art with a sense of harmony and wonder.

Nathalie is also an art and design teacher at Olchfa school as well as leading popular workshops at SPW.  She shares her cyanotype journey and experience on Instagram; @natstoneart
