Mission Statement

Objects of the Association

  • The fostering, development and encouragement of fine art practices, with particular reference to drawing and printmaking.
  • to provide shared art production facilities
  • to promote greater awareness of print and drawing techniques and to educate public tastes in these arts through teaching programs and exhibitions
  • to provide an environment where practicing artists can operate on a high professional level and extend and refine their expertise.
  • to provide entry level workshops in all related techniques for all sections of the community.
  • to meet regularly to exchange views and expertise with other artists and like minded groups in other areas of the country.

Aims

  • to extend our user base through working closely with local initiatives to reach a wider range of participants.
  • to increase the opening hours to fully realise the best value of a newly refurbished facility
  • to raise awareness of the special accessibility and creative potential of printmaking as an art form and its unique suitability to first-time users and non-artists.
  • to provide training for workshop leaders and assistants and a platform for a pool of community artists for the exchange of information and the delivery of good professional workshops
  • to promote and extend research into new methods and techniques of printmaking based on environmentally ‘safe’ use of nontoxic materials.

Set up in 1998 by the two founding members, Jackie Ford and Alan Williams, it became a not for profit company in the year 2000.

It is operated with a voluntary board of directors in addition to volunteers in the studio and administrative areas. Please contact us if you would like further details on our current operational Board.
