Our Group Print Days are something very special and only available to our Members!

Usually working to a theme, you work alongside other printmakers to make a collaborative print.

They are a great way to meet other artists and learn from each other, to experience editioning in practice and to have some fun!

At the end, you each take a print home, and one is retained by SPW for our archives, so your work also becomes part of SPW history!

Below is a selection of previous Group Print days.

Members Group Print days are publicized through our Members Newsletters, social media and as part of our Workshop Programme. You can also find these on our Members Noticeboard too!

Members Group Print Day | Sunday October 16 | 2022

Nine members took part in our collaborative print day encouraged by Sarah Hopkins and guest artist Sameera Khan. Using the theme fungi and a whole range of specimens to draw inspiration from, designs were transferred to small printing blocks using both relief and collagraph.

Group Print Day: January 2007

As part of the Printmakers Forum programme we held a very successful group print day on Sunday January 6th for any of our full members who wanted to take part.

On the day nine people turned up with a fine and rarefied collection of shoes to draw and make into a print.

Taking part: Sheila Clark | Rose Davies | Elissa Evans | Jackie Ford | Sarah Hopkins | Lesley Lillywhite | Heidi Mehta | Jenny Mynett | Alison Porter | Judith Stroud | Alan Williams

Printing blocks had to be complete by lunch time to allow time to print up a copy of the print for everyone, one for the studio and one for the archives.

Linocutscollagraphs and monotypes were produced enhanced by small areas of chine colle. After a couple of proofs, a streamlined production process was developed orchestrated by Sarah Hopkins and the thirteenth print came off the press around 7.00pm. The print was shown in our exhibition at the Arts Wing at the Grand Theatre, Swansea in February 2008.
