In this one-day workshop we will be transforming household packaging into playful prints using the magic of printmaking

By the end of the day, we will have covered

• preparing and translating an image into both an intaglio and relief collagraph and their differences.
• manipulating the packaging with different tools and techniques to achieve tonal variation with contrasting linear mark making
• inking the plate in both intaglio and relief and how to combine the two
• how to choose from the range of SPW stock papers and how to prepare them
• plate registration and good working practice to achieve a clean result.
• setting up one of Swansea Print Workshops three etching presses correctly for the process
• producing a small set of final prints on good printing paper

We will be working with a limited palette of just black and red
