Description

Here’s my grandfather, William Henry Hopkins (1891–1976), enjoying a sneaky pint at the Ivorites’ Arms, Cadle after his Friday shift at Garn Goch Colliery. He was a blacksmith like his father, and a stoker. He used to hide his beer money in the garden shed, away from my grandmother, who firmly held the purse-strings.
