A great opportunity to see how paper can be made from local resources

Swansea Print Workshop is always open to new workshop possibilities and is currently looking at a  collaboration with Wild Plant Paper run by Bryan Collis

Bryan makes some very interesting papers at and we have bought a selection to try out.
There are some definite limitations regarding our normal printing processes. A recent visit to Cranfield Colours who make our specialist inks for relief and intaglio printing demonstrated the close relationship between how a paper is made and the capacity of that paper to use their intense colours to full capacity.

The papers have very attractive surfaces and textures, particularly in the frame of recycling and enviromentally sourced materials.
There are definite applications in bookbinding, chine collé and possibly embossing. They are also probably of interest to anyone making their own pigments from natural sources
