This one day workshop is an introduction to Gel Printing
Looking for a fresh artistic adventure this Autumn. Now is the perfect time to dive into Gel Plate Monotype Printmaking! On this one day workshop you’ll create unique, one-of-a-kind prints with ease and take your creativity to the next level!
Monoprinting using a Gel Plate provides endless creative possibilities without the need for a printing press, making it possible to do it from almost anywhere! The gratification is immediate, each print is truly unique!
During this workshop you will explore a variety of Gel Plate Printing techniques. You will experiment with layering colour and texture using stencils and masking techniques. Throughout the workshop we’ll work with found & recycled materials – from kitchen drawer treasures to nature finds – turning everyday leftovers into layered stories.
During the workshop we will explore an understanding of how paints and different papers impact gel prints and what is the right amount of paint? How to clean, care for and store a gel printing plate.
All supplies are included but an apron is recommended. Please dress for mess! If you are thinking of getting your own Gel Plate I recommend size 5”x7” and you’ll have an opportunity to use it during the day.
