MiniPrint Cymru | Wales

About MiniPrint CYMRU | WALES

MiniPrint Cymru | Wales is a Wales-wide collaborative initiative created in 2023 to raise the profile of printmaking in Wales.

Working together, Regional Partners – Swansea Print Workshop, Aberystwyth Printmakers, the Regional Print Centre and the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art – are encouraging their members and the Wales-based wider printmaking and art community, to create high quality, small-scale affordable artwork.

Get involved!

Alongside artists across Wales, SPW members and the wider artist community in Swansea and south Wales are invited to submit* small-scale prints for an exhibition and inclusion in a high-quality, bi-lingual publication.

Work will be selected by a panel of respected artists/printmakers for a touring exhibition showing at the Mission Gallery, Swansea in December 2025/January 2026 and at the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art in Conwy in March/April 2026.

Submissions of small-scale prints which have been created in the last 3 years are eligible.  We are also supporting artists – through our Annual Workshop Programme – to create new work. Workshops with a focus on mini prints will be led by artists Marian Haf, Vinita Voogd, and Sian Barlow.

*Artists who reside in Wales or are a member of one of the Regional Partners or a member of a Wales-based printmaking organisation are eligible to submit work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be included in a prestigious exhibition, to raise your artist profile and sell work. In 2023, the exhibited prints were by emerging and established printmakers alike, and many sold work. Read more about the project here.

And, by taking part, you will be contributing to the success of Mini Print Cymru | Wales so that it becomes a sustainable Wales-wide biennial event, connecting printmaking communities across the regions, showing the creativity and versatility of Wales-based artists, printmakers, and printmaking.

You do not have to be a member of Swansea Print Workshop to submit work but if you would like to participate in any of the mini prints workshops, you may wish to consider a membership.

By joining as an ordinary member for £25 you can enjoy savings on the workshops we offer. Once you have joined you can book in straightaway at the reduced rate. For a one-day workshop, for example, you would pay £85 instead of £95. Additionally you will be able to use the workshop on open access sessions to pursue work independently.

MiniPrint Cymru | Wales is supported by funding from the Arts Council of Wales.

Swansea Print Workshop would like to thank the Brecknock Trust and Swansea City Council for their support.
