The project facilitated the upgrading of skills of four participating artists in photo screenprinting techniques with the aim of increasing the knowledge base and expertise available to SPW for onward training and delivery of workshops.
The group of artists pooled skills and received additional training with tutors from other printmaking organisations to develop their own practice as well as skills to lead or supervise others in the technique.
Participating artists: Elissa Evans | Lucy Donald | Judith Stroud | Sheila Clark
Photo screenprint is an exciting way of producing a print using photographic imagery. It is a technique which appeals and is accessible to people of all ages, abilities and experience.
Through the project, the infrastructure and knowledge-base gained allowed the Workshop to develop and offer new workshops to our client groups. The specialist equipment purchased as part of the project augmented the studio facilities for use in Open Access and across the wider workshop programme.
This project took place in 2003 and was made possible through the You & Your Community: WCVS Millennium Award Scheme. (Wales Council for Voluntary Services).
