Getting work ready to sell on the website
We are hoping to get as much work as possible for sale on the website.
We know many of you have work for sale but as yet have not made an appearance on the new website. It will help us to have more of a presence on the internet and it will add to the variety of excellent original prints we have for sale. It will also boost your income and ours if we start to sell more work.
Its also a good thing to be able to record your work at a professional level
Help is at hand for anyone who needs technical support.
- If you have a scanner and the work is A4 or less it will be easy to do at home | set it to scan at 72dpi and thia will keep the file down to a areasonable size for the website
- If the work is larger it is possible to get a good image on your phone preferably by photographing outside in daylight making sure to get the image really square to all sides of the phone screen
- We have an A3 scanner in the studio which will give you better results and you can book it if you would like to find out how to do it yourself.
- You can leave a folder of prints to be photographed at the studio
Please note | you cannot photograph anything to an acceptable standard if the print is behind glass
Each file should be very carefully named by SAVE AS and titling the files as follows
Your name title medium size [height x width cms image area] price [including 20% commission for the studio]
for example

We need a full list of these complete file names in a text document and sent to me digitally at jmford@ntlworld.com
Each artist will have a page where they can put something about themselves/ the way they work/ what interests them/ what they like about printmaking – there is no formula for this. It doesn’t have to be biographical.
Additionally each piece of work can have a small amount of text which may give some insight into the work /technique on a personal level which would help to engage potential buyers/followers. It doesn’t have to be very long.
It really doesnt have to be recent work and it may be the case that I already have some of your images on file from previous exhibitions.
I will still need the full file names in digital form however.
Drop me an email if you need help or any other information.
You can send files directly to me by email, but please dont overload single emails.
Dropbox is a good alternative as you only need to send me a link
Hoping you will find the time and energy to do this as it will be really helpful the workshop
many thanks
