Objects of the Association
- The fostering, development and encouragement of fine art practices, with particular reference to drawing and printmaking.
- to provide shared art production facilities
- to promote greater awareness of print and drawing techniques and to educate public tastes in these arts through teaching programs and exhibitions
- to provide an environment where practicing artists can operate on a high professional level and extend and refine their expertise.
- to provide entry level workshops in all related techniques for all sections of the community.
- to meet regularly to exchange views and expertise with other artists and like minded groups in other areas of the country.
Aims
- to extend our user base through working closely with local initiatives to reach a wider range of participants.
- to increase the opening hours to fully realise the best value of a newly refurbished facility
- to raise awareness of the special accessibility and creative potential of printmaking as an art form and its unique suitability to first-time users and non-artists.
- to provide training for workshop leaders and assistants and a platform for a pool of community artists for the exchange of information and the delivery of good professional workshops
- to promote and extend research into new methods and techniques of printmaking based on environmentally ‘safe’ use of non
– toxic materials.
Set up in 1998 by the two founding members, Jackie Ford and Alan Williams, it became a not for profit company in the year 2000.
It is operated with a voluntary board of directors in addition to volunteers in the studio and administrative areas. Please contact us if you would like further details on our current operational Board.
