Adferiad is a member-led charity that campaigns for and provides services to people affected by mental ill health, drug or alcohol use, gambling harms and other challenging circumstances.
This mini print workshop opportunity will allow members of the group to learn a new art medium and gain the confidence to attend a social event outside of their comfort zone. It will also allow them to express their creativity in a safe and positive environment with the potential of having their art piece exhibited which will be a first for all of our members.
Many members of the Adferiad service rely heavily on Art as a form of expressive therapy and distraction from their poor mental health. As a result, weekly art sessions are run within our centres to encourage and promote the impact art can have on positive mental health and personal creativity.
Printmaking Workshop: Linocut | Monday 19 May 2025
Lead Artist: Rose Davies | Volunteer Artist Support: Louise Hughes
An introduction to single-block linocut design and cutting, with single colour and chine colle printing techniques.

About Lead Artist, Rose Davies: Rosie Scribblah – aka Rose Davies – is an Artist, Educator and Blogger.
She works directly from life, carrying a sketchbook at all times looking for any opportunity to have a scribble. And she is a printmaker and occasionally a painter. She works on the streets, in public indoors and outdoors, bringing the practice of art directly to people who may never have been into a gallery or seen art being created. Sometimes her sketchbook drawings become the basis for printmaking work, monotypes, screenprints, drypoints… She exhibits and works nationally and internationally and has carried out artists residencies in the USA and Pakistan as well as Wales.
She works from her studio in Swansea where she lives with her partner and their cats, Sparta Puss and William ChatNoir. She has a Masters in Adult Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and a Diploma in Art from Swansea Art College.
