Swansea Print Workshop is a fine art printmaking studio run by volunteers. It was set up in 1998 by founder members, Jackie Ford and Alan Williams, supported by a small group of artists.
Its aim was to provide much-needed open-access, professional printmaking and drawing facilities in the Swansea area and to promote and encourage the art of printmaking.
It became a not-for-profit company in the year 2000 supported by the Co-operative Society and a small business grant from Business Connect, Swansea.
The premises were refurbished in 2001 with the help of a substantial grant from the Arts Council of Wales.
Over the years, through further public and private funding, fundraising and our vital membership and volunteer support, SPW has been able to substantially extend the studio facilities and the activities offered.
We think of ourselves as a friendly, small organisation with a big impact! We are proud to be a vital creative hub for local artists and community, and to play our part in the wider printmaking world with national and international connections made through projects and exhibitions.
