Description
“Hunting The Wild Megalith” Evening Event – Tuesday 17 February – 18.30 – 20.00 | 20 places | Linocut Workshop Participants, SPW Members and SPW Life Drawing Group Members Only Event
Ahead of the theme-based Linocut workshop, “Hunting the Wild Megalith” with Rose Davies (aka Rosie Scribblah), there will be a FREE evening event for those booked on Rose’s workshop, SPW Members and SPW Life Drawing Group members.
For more details and to book on the workshop please visit Hunting the Wild Megalith.
The evening event will be a fun look at Rose’s creative travels with Melvyn and Dewi as he researched his latest book “Hunting The Wild Megalith”. The three followed the path of Y Twrch Trwyth (The Boar Hunt) from the book of Welsh legend, The Mabinogion. The path of the hunt crosses South Wales from the West Coast to the Usk and coincides with most of the major prehistoric stone monuments in this ancient and mythological landscape.
The event includes a short film by Melvyn Williams, an illustrated talk by member Rose Davies / Rosie Scribblah, and a chance to meet author, pre-historian and Rhondda raconteur Dewi Williams. And cake.
This will take place @19a Clarence Street. Although the event is FREE, please book your place as space is limited to 20 attendees.
About the Artist
Rosie Scribblah aka Rose Davies is an Artist, Educator and Blogger. She works directly from life: “carrying a sketchbook at all times looking for any opportunity to have a scribble”. And she is a printmaker and occasionally a painter. She works on the streets, in public – indoors and outdoors, bringing the practice of art directly to people who may never have been into a gallery or seen art being created. Sometimes her sketchbook drawings become the basis for printmaking work, monotypes, screenprints, drypoints…
Rosie exhibits and works nationally and internationally and has carried out artists residencies in The USA and Pakistan as well as Wales.
She works from her studio in Swansea where she lives with her partner and their cats, Sparta Puss and William ChatNoir. She has a Masters in Adult Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and a Diploma in Art from Swansea Art College.
