It is with great sadness we have to share the sad news of the sudden and unexpected death of one of our directors, Alan Roberts.
Together with his late wife, Carys, Alan has been one of our staunchest and most proactive supporters for many years. Their enthusiasm and commitment to SPW has been invaluable, and their support and encouragement of others to become involved and engaged with the studio always generous. They are part of the fabric and legacy of SPW.
Their youngest daughter Ceri is one of our directors involved in the successful funding bid and is part of the team now delivering our most recent Arts Council project.
Alan supported SPW in many ways – from practical problems with our ageing equipment to taking on the responsibility of getting us through Covid. He successfully sourced additional funding and kept a steady hand on our finances so that we came out of that challenging time in a strong and forward-looking position.
Above all, Alan was a generous, very kind and considerate friend and colleague who could be utterly relied upon. We will miss him terribly.
