Lino cutting and printing is a traditional relief printmaking method. ln this one day course you will cut a drawing or design into a block of lino using a range of cutting tools. ink the remaining surface and print onto paper and or fabric. Additional techniques like chine-colle (collaging) may be introduced to enrich the print produced.

This is a process that can easily be carried out at home. Although we use a press in the studio, it is possible to make prints at home using a hand burnishing technique to produce good quality prints.

You will be shown the range of tools and materials that are available for this process and the choice of papers suitable for printing.

The workshop is open to all. Previous experience with printmaking is not a requirement. Tools and materials will be supplied
