Since SPW was founded, we have encouraged and promoted the art of drawing and life drawing and these have been an important element of our regular programme of activities and as part of our projects too.

Thursday Evening Life Drawing Group

The thriving ‘Thursday Evening Group’ is run by long-term volunteer Steve Jones. The sessions are informal and not taught, and are suitable for both experienced artists and people who want to give it a go.

The Group offer a rota of professional models of all ages and body types and Steve is happy to take suggestions for poses from the participants. The Drawing Room, where the session takes place, has directional lighting and two large wall mirrors retained from its former life as a dance studio! These add interest and a more complex perspective to the poses.

The full session is for three hours from 6.30 pm to 9.30pm with a half hour break at 8.00. There are usually a series of shorter poses in the first part of the session, with a longer, often a full-hour, pose after the break.

Booking

The Thursday sessions are limited by number and by prior booking only directly with Steve Jones. Please telephone on 01792791439. If you leave a message he will get back to you. Sessions are £8 per session booked in 4-week blocks, payable upfront.
